our philosophy

The professionals teaching and supporting your child will make sure that

the activities are suited to your child’s unique needs.

a love for learning

through play

We work hard to bring out the best in all the children in our care, providing lots of tools, routines and resources to make their days busy, happy and stimulating. Using the curriculum guidelines laid down in the statutory Early Years Foundation Stage, we plan daily activities appropriate for each age range to encourage learning and development through play. Our children get lots of positive encouragement; they learn practical and creative skills, how to share and concentrate, good table manners and lots of other social and educational skills that provide love for learning and a firm foundation for life.

our curriculum

Our curriculum covers all areas of learning and development within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. These areas are particularly crucial for igniting children’s curiosity and enthusiasm for learning, and for building their capacity to learn, form relationships and thrive.

early years foundation

stage framework

Together with all nurseries, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework to focus on the needs of children from birth to 5 years old. Play is a crucial element, it also outlines the legal welfare requirements that everyone registered to look after children must follow to keep your child safe and promote their welfare.

The EYFS framework sets out the characteristics of effective learning to help the child become an effective and motivated learner.

These characteristics are.......

activities

As well as the EYFS curriculum, we offer a wealth of additional activities for our little ones. This includes dressing up areas, craft areas, construction, small world areas and story corners for reading, quiet reflection or for playing musical instruments. All the children enjoy weekly music sessions, and the pre-schoolers and toddlers also enjoy tennis, drama and creative movement sessions with Nikki. We also take the children on short excursions to local places of interest to explore the world outside the nursery.

All children enjoy the gardens throughout the year. As well as running around and playing on the equipment, the older children take part in structured sports and exercise sessions.

In each of the nurseries, we have a pets corner. Cavendish Lodge houses our ducks, and Dove House houses our rabbits. and tortoise.

Our vegetable gardens are popular with the children. Dedicated green-fingered staff help them dig, weed, plant and nurture herbs and vegetables. And then, best of all, harvest them and take them to the kitchen for cooking.

Good food and nutrition are our highest priority. We make sure that children get a healthy, varied diet and that mealtimes are relaxed and enjoyable occasions. They eat well and learn to socialise at the same time as children sit in small groups and eat alongside staff members who are on hand to help.

live daily reports

keep in touch

We’re keen for our parents and carers to know what goes on in the children’s day and to work closely with us, using the same routines and guidelines, to develop happy and confident young children.

All parents and carers have access to a mobile and online app that allows them to see their little ones' daily progress straight to their pockets.

The app allows parents and carers see a live feed of when their child sleeps, what they eat and when nappies are changed.

Parents and carers can also see there child’s observations and EYFS learning journey.

Finally, all nursery communications and billing is accessed through the app, so to keep everything in one safe place.
